Housing Market in South Mississippi
The housing market in South Mississippi is doing extremely well like the rest of the U.S.
News 25 spoke with Expect Realty in D’Iberville and they’ve seen an uptick in sales across the Coast.
For example, in this year’s month of May in total about 680 homes were sold on the Coast where last year it was less than 500.
Although the inventory is about half of what it was a year ago, Expect Realty sells from state line to state line and has had higher than normal listing prices in some cities like Ocean Springs and Bay St. Louis, especially in their downtown areas.
But also seeing plenty of transactions in other cities like Gulfport, Biloxi, and Diamondhead. Expect Realty Broker Bryan David said, “It’s a really good market and our average price is up across the Coast about 220,000 where a year ago it was about 180,000 and before that it was about 150,000.”
Expect Realty shares that for those looking to sell to find a trusted realtor so they can get the most amount of money for their home and sell quickly and the same advice for those looking to buy as a market like this with low inventory can be discouraging.
